1st Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board-Pakistan Meeting / Knowledge Sharing Workshop 10th November, 2015
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is a fund within the framework of the UNFCCC which envisages a mechanism to redistribute money from the developed to the developing world. This money is meant to assist the Developing Countries in adaptation and mitigation efforts to counter effects of Climate Change. The Fund will support projects, programs, policies and other activities in Developing Country Parties using thematic funding windows. It is intended to be the centerpiece of efforts to raise Climate Finance of $100 billion a year by 2020. All Developing Countries Party to the UNFCCC are eligible to receive resources from the Fund.
1st meeting of GCF Board-Pakistan was held on 10th November, 2015 at PC-Bhurban under the Chairmanship of Federal Secretary/GCF Focal Point, Ministry of Climate Change. The main Agenda of meeting was to discuss and brief the members about Green Climate Fund and Pakistan status, specially pertaining to Readiness, Accreditation and Pipeline development for availing GCF resources.
