Meets UK Lords, Ex-Army Chief call on Climate Minister Musadik Malik, Discuss Climate Investment
Islamabad (October 17, 2025) - Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Senator Dr. Musadik Malik, on Friday chaired a high-level meeting with the International Advisory Board of the Samson Group of Companies. The delegation was led by Lord Amir Sarfraz of Kensington, Member of the UK House of Lords, and General Patrick Sander, former Chief of the British Army. The meeting focused on promoting eco-tourism in Pakistan, particularly in the northern regions, through sustainable development models that balance economic growth with environmental preservation. Dr. Musadik Malik emphasised the importance of developing tourism in a manner that safeguards the country’s natural landscapes and biodiversity while generating livelihood opportunities for local communities. Samson Group’s ambitious commitment to plant 100 million trees across Pakistan as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative was also highlighted during the meeting. The climate change Minister Senator Dr Musadik Malik appreciated such a large-scale plantation effort and reaffirmed the Government’s support for private sector partnerships that align with Pakistan’s broader environmental and climate resilience objectives.
